Representing the pinnacle of cycling technology, this revolutionary bike is set to be ridden by British athletes at the upcoming 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow, and later at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

This cutting-edge bike is the result of tireless dedication and ingenuity from the team at Renishaw. Leveraging their advanced 3D printing technologies, they worked closely with British Cycling and other engineering firms to produce bespoke components that would take the performance of the bike to new heights. From the lightweight handlebars from Lotus Engineering to the innovative HBT Paris frame from Hope Technology, every detail was meticulously designed to enhance aerodynamic efficiency and overall performance.

To validate the improved design and ensure durability throughout intense race conditions, Renishaw utilized their in-house 3D printing expertise to create plastic and metal prototype parts for rigorous aerodynamic testing. The goal was to guarantee lightweight and geometrically accurate components that could withstand the demanding forces exerted by the athletes. Once the viability of these parts was confirmed, Renishaw’s RenAM 500Q 3D printers were utilized to manufacture customized aluminium and titanium parts, including handlebars tailored specifically to each individual athlete.
