Asahi Kasei Plastics North America (Apna) is excited to enter the realm of 3D printing with the launch of their new filaments. Among these new offerings is Xyron, a polyphenylene ether known as m-PPE, which boasts impressive heat and impact resistance. Valued as an alternative to Ultem and ABS, Apna is also introducing a Thermylene Polypropylene (PP) characterized by its high stiffness and strength alongside low warpage, aspiring to revolutionize Material Extrusion 3D Printers with ASA clean.

In educational advancements, the University of North Florida joins hands with the Mayo Clinic’s 3D Anatomic Modeling Laboratory to develop an undergraduate course dedicated to 3D Anatomy. The new course aims to prepare students for work in hospital 3D print labs, facilitating the transformation of CT and MRI scans into 3D printed models. Such initiatives are hoped to offer vast job opportunities in the growing field.

Meanwhile, in cycling accessories, Fizik launches a new zonal cushioning bike saddle – lighter in weight and made with Carbon. The saddle is wider than its counterparts and priced at $300 or $260.
